TEACHER/EDUCATOR INFORMATION
Lu Jong 1 Teacher
Lu Jong 1 Educator

I am eternally grateful to Tulku Lobsang for making Lu Jong and the Buddhist Wisdom practices available to us in such a wonderfully simple way. My passion is to make Lu Jong and the Five Elements Practices more accessible to people through teaching classes regularly and training new teachers.

In 2013 I had a patient who was tired all the time, and there was no medical explanation for this. I recommended yoga as I found it useful personally. That consultation prompted me to look for a yoga to teach, and a friend recommended Lu Jong. In my role as a medical doctor, I find that western medicine does not provide all the solutions to the health and wellbeing problems people search for. I can now help people stay healthier and happier by teaching them to live and move more mindfully. This in time will help prevent illness, disease and unhappiness.

I am originally from South Africa and of Indian origin. I first did yoga at the age of 6 and resumed a more regular practice when I moved to the UK in 2001. I did my undergraduate medical training in Johannesburg and trained as a General Practitioner in the UK. I am also a Medical Acupuncturist.

Buddhism did not feature in my life until I was around 18 years old and I started to question principles and practices of my birth religion, Hinduism. I was drawn to Buddhism and before training as a Lu Jong teacher I attended a few Buddhist courses. I experienced Tibetan Buddhism for the first time in Nepal in 2013, however Lu Jong was never mentioned.

A medical colleague introduced me to Lu Jong after she attended a class in Barcelona.
I met Tulku Lobsang in New York in 2014 during my certification masterclass, having done my training with Farrah Garan from the USA.

I was fortunate enough to visit Tibet during a trip to China. It was wonderful to walk on the Tibetan plateau and experience the world that inspired the Five Elements Practices as we know it.

My regular teaching schedule is as follows:
Monday - Friday 7am - 7.45 - Five Elements, Nine Breaths and Meditation
Sunday 10am - Five Elements, Nine Breaths and Meditation with other movements added
Friday 10am - Theory session on topic related to Tibetan Tantrayana teachings

Teacher Training - Please contact me for dates.
